I usually steam them and then mush with spices etc, but I just ended up with 3 bushels of apples (no, you're not the only one it happens to) and I am feeling kind of low energy and like I'd rather be knitting so I am definitely going to try crock apples! Thanks for the tip on the eggplant mush, I think I shall try it again (I don't know when but hopefully before the eggplant that I have in my fridge get gross) and I will be adding the onion with the tomato this time as well and freezing it. for whatever reason I never think about freezing things cause I'm never sure what I can and can't freeze without making it gross. I read your jam recipes and just cringe and thing (ahhhh scary!) but apple sauce sounds relativly easy don't know who I would share it with but it just sounds much easier then the jam and I may have to try it... Sometime. It suddenly occures to me that I am going to be completely busy out of my mind till about the 25th. DAMN! But yes pretty apples. Looks really good.
